Voice Recognition

The ability of a computer to react to someone speaking.

It is now normal for someone to speak to a computer or similar device such as a smart phone or a smart TV or even a remote control and the AI Large Language Model installed in the system responds to it in an effective way.

However. This hardware will always need to be present:

- a microphone to pick up the original sound
- a sound processing unit that converts analog signals into a digital file
- that file is then replayed to the LLM or AI system so it can respond.
- the output from the AI model then has to be converted back to an analog signal
- the analog signal is amplifed and played back to either earphones or audio speakers
